Project Investigator: Thea de Wet

Thea de WetThea de Wet is an anthropologist and professor at Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg. Her research interests include the relationships among poverty, violence, and urbanization. She has worked on evaluations of re-hydration training for parents to reduce de-hydration in infants and toddlers, the use of over-the counter drugs among poor mothers as an alternative to medical care, and the impact of adult smoking and advertisement on children. She has co-authored several papers with Oscar Barbarin.
