Project Investigator: Maryna de Wet

Maryna de WetMaryna de Wet is a lecturer in Sociology at the University of the Orange Free State. She became involved in Early Childhood Development research when approached by the Home Instruction Foundation, a non-governmental organization, based in Mangaung, Bloemfontein, to assist them in monitoring and evaluation activities. The Home Instruction Foundation was responsible for implementing programs such as the locally sponsored Home Instruction Pre-School Prepartory Programme. For this GPY project, she has been working with Lesedi Educare Association, an NGO focusing on the ECD needs of Westminster, a rural area in the Free State. She has been assisted by Neo Letele, a masters student in Sociology at the University of the Orange Free State. Ms. de Wet's research interests include research methodology and the Sociology of developing societies.
